Helping first generation, disabled and limited income students graduate from college
Student Support Services (SSS) provides year-round mentoring, coaching, and support for college students enrolled in AA/AS degrees, and is designed to significantly increase the retention and graduation rates of its participants. Students must apply and be accepted into this limited-access program, located on Clearwater and Gibbs campuses. This program provides:
- Personalized success coaching
- Career exploration activities
- Career counseling
- Referral to additional services, including tutoring and mental health services
- Textbook/Laptop lending library
- Transfer assistance and university tours
- Workshops, field trips and more!
Who can apply to Student Support Services?
To be eligible, SPC students must be U.S. citizens (or permanent residents), be seeking an AA or AS degree, and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be a first-generation college student (neither parent having earned a bachelor's degree), and/or
- Be low-income based on the U.S. Department of Education guidelines
- Have a Disability
