The Florida Student Assistance Grant - Career Education (FSAG-CE) is a need-based grant program available to Florida residents enrolled in certificate programs at participating community colleges or career centers operated by district school boards.
Award amounts vary based on available funds.
Funding is not available for the summer term.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this grant, the student must meet these requirements each academic year:
- Complete a FAFSA.
- Your FAFSA should be processed by the preferred date of May 1. Funds are extremely limited. There is no guarantee you will receive these funds. You must apply early.
- Be a U.S. Citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
- Must have been a Florida resident for at least one year.
- Be enrolled in a financial assistance eligible certificate program.
- Be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per term.
- Have a calculated Student Aid Index (SAI) of 9984 or less, as determined by the FAFSA.
- Have not have previously received a bachelor's degree.
- Must not owe a repayment or be in default under any state or federal grant or loan program.
- Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress at SPC.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Renewal Requirements
FSAG awards have specific completion renewal requirements that are different from the minimum Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.
- For each term of full-time enrollment (12 credit hours or more), students must complete 12 credit hours for the term.
- For each term of three-quarter time enrollment (9-11 credit hours or more), students must complete 9 credit hours for the term.
- For each term of half-time enrollment (6-8 credit hours), students must complete 6 credit hours for the term.
- All students receiving FSAG must have a minimum cumulative GPA (unrounded and unweighted) of 2.0.
