Artist and Retired Astronaut Nicole Stott Took Flight Thanks to SPC

As a former astronaut, SPC alumna Nicole Stott has literally been around the world, orbiting planet Earth aboard two spaceflights and the International Space Station.
As an artist, Nicole creatively combines her space flight experiences with art to inspire others. She co-founded the Space for Art Foundation, which mission is to develop, implement and facilitate space-inspired art therapy programs, exhibits, and research.
Nicole studied aviation administration at SPC, which she says was the perfect setup for her work as an engineer. During her 28-year career with NASA, Nicole was the first person to fly the robotic arm to capture the free flying HTV cargo vehicle, the first person to paint and Tweetup from space, the last crew member to fly to and from their ISS mission on a Space Shuttle, and was a member of the crew of the final flight of the Space Shuttle Discovery.
