Pursue Your Path to a Postsecondary Education

The TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC), hosted by St. Petersburg College, is a community program that assists qualified individuals who want to enter a postsecondary pathway at any postsecondary institution, whether they are a first-time-in-college student or a returning student who may have stopped out of their postsecondary pathway and need to start the readmissions process. The mission of EOC is to increase the percentage of students who successfully pursue postsecondary education opportunities.

The EOC is here as an additional resource to make the transition into college as seamless as possible. Our staff provides counseling and information on all the components to the college admissions process, as well as access to resources to improve financial and economic literacy.

The EOC provides FREE assistance and services in areas including:

  • Help with the college admission process, enrollment steps and financial aid applications
  • College entrance examinations and testing vouchers
  • Education or counseling to improve financial and economic literacy
  • Guidance on secondary school re-entry, the GED program or alternative education
  • Individualized personal, career and academic counseling
  • Career building workshops and counseling
  • U.S. citizen or national or permanent resident or INS documentation of intent to become resident
  • 17 years old or older
  • First generation: Neither parent or guardian has obtained a bachelor's degree
  • Low income: Taxable income does not exceed 150 percent of the federal poverty line in the calendar year preceding the year
  • For veterans: Meets definition u00a7644.7(b) regardless of age
  • Desire: Request information or assistance in apply for postsecondary
