Fred Arnold

Fred Arnold has come a long way from working as an electronics technician on submarines for the Navy to his new-found passion in digital communications.

Recently hired as a Multimedia Specialist for Knight Enterprises, Fred attributes much of his success to the experience he gained while studying at St. Petersburg College.

"The skills I learned in my classes, during my social media internship and while working on the college's online newspaper prepared me for the career I have today."

Fred used his veterans education benefits to earn his Associate in Arts degree with an emphasis on Mass Communications. Today, he is working on his Associate in Science degree in Digital Media and recently completed a one-semester internship in social media.

An active volunteer for the college's online student newspaper, The Sandbox News, he was named Publications Division Student of the Month by The Florida College System Activities Association, received an Outstanding Volunteer Service Award and recently won second and third place awards in the Florida Society of News Editors annual competition.
