Internships at St. Petersburg College
Internships give you an edge by providing valuable contacts and experience that can lead to full-time jobs. SPC works with some of the best companies, local and national employers, as well as small businesses to offer you the widest range of experience. Each year, more than 2,000 SPC students complete internships with businesses throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Need college credit for your internship?
Many SPC degree programs require students to enroll in an internship or Co-Operative work experience course to accompany the internship. If you need college credits for your internship, review the internship course checklist to determine your eligibility. Submit the Internship Course application during the application window listed below.

SPC has designed a common course outline for all disciplines that is facilitated by faculty and includes 3 credit hours of course academic credit = 180 on-the-job contact hours. The SPC internship course is facilitated by faculty and includes:
- Development of SMART Learning Objectives
- Weekly journal entries
- Final paper
- Site visit by college staff
