New Students

Once you have applied to St. Petersburg College, there are a few more steps you must take to officially start your journey as a Titan. A full list of next steps is provided below.

New Student Checklist

  1. Sign in to the SPC Website
  2. Enter your SPC email address and SPC password.

Once you have logged in, you will land in your Titan Hub. The Titan Hub is your student portal.

Need to look up your Student Email/Student ID Number?

Having issues logging into your account? Contact the Technical Support Center.

You now have an official SPC student email account. This is where you will receive important and secure messages from the college. Log into the Titan Hub to access your SPC email.

After logging in, you will need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication for your account.

We're excited to introduce the Titan Hub (Pathify) mobile app, a dynamic platform designed to enhance your college experience. By installing this app on your phone, you unlock benefits that streamline your academic journey and connect you with the campus community.

All incoming first-year and transfer students must meet with their Enrollment Specialist to complete their admissions steps before enrolling in courses. Check your personal and SPC student email accounts for an appointment invitation.

Admission to SPC requires a standard high school diploma or GED. We need your final and official academic transcripts to show proof of high school graduation or GED. We must have your official transcripts to receive Financial Aid and be classified as a degree-seeking student.

If you have completed an A.A.S. degree or higher at a regionally accredited institution, you do not need to submit high school transcripts. Your college coursework could exempt you from taking the College Placement Test.

If you attended another college or university and want to attend SPC, you’re a transfer student. You will need to submit official transcripts from every regionally accredited college that you have attended.

To order your transcripts, contact each college you have attended and ask them to send us an official copy of your final transcripts. Each college has their own process for ordering transcripts. If you need to submit a written request, use our transcript request form.

Please speak with your Enrollment Specialist to determine if taking the placement test is required.

If you have taken the SAT, ACT, or Classic Learning Test (CLT) within the last two years please submit official scores to St. Petersburg College admissions office.

You will also want to submit official scores if you have taken and passed the exams for AICE, AP or CLEP.

You should take the Placement Test (PERT) if you don’t have recent (within two years) passing ACT, SAT, or Classic Learning test scores, and you meet one of the following conditions:

  1. You graduated from a private high school.
  2. You received a high-school diploma as a home-schooled student.
  3. You graduated from a Florida public high school in 2007 or earlier or started in 9thgrade before the 2003-04 school year.
  4. You completed a GED.
  5. You graduated from an out-of-state high school.

NOTE: If you passed a college-level math or Composition 1 course with a “C” or higher at a regionally accredited U.S. college, it would count towards your placement test requirement. Make sure to send your official transcripts to SPC for evaluation. You can use an unofficial transcript for initial placement.

Need to take the placement test? Get details and schedule placement testing.

You may be eligible for in-state tuition if you have been a Florida resident for at least 12 months. Proof of residency is required. Speak with your Enrollment Specialist to determine if you qualify.

You should apply for Financial Aid even if you think you don’t qualify. There are many forms of support you may get, like grants and scholarships. To apply, you need to submit a completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid Application).

Use SPC school code: 001528

After connecting with your Enrollment Specialist and completing your checklist items, you can meet with your New Student Onboarding Advisor to register for classes. • Complete All Previous Steps: Ensure you’ve finished all the checklist items mentioned before this step.
  • Download Zoom: You’ll need Zoom for your advising appointment, so make sure it’s installed and working on your device.
  • Appointments are 45 Minutes: Be prepared for a 45-minute session with your New Student Onboarding Advisor.

What Will Happen During your Advising Session:

  • Discussion of your program and career goals.
  • Register for your first semester.
  • Start your Learning Plan.
  • Ask questions and clear doubts.

Once you have registered for classes, we require all new students to attend or complete  First Time Titans Orientation. This three-hour interactive session is designed to help you understand what to expect on your first day of class and discover the various resources SPC has to offer.

Online students not in the local area should complete the First-Time Titans course in MyCourses. This requirement ensures that you're well-prepared and can maximize your remote learning experience. The First-Time Titans course can be accessed through the Titan Hub under MyCourses.

Registered-Now What?

Now that you’ve registered, you’re ready to take the next steps and for classes. Use the resource links in the sections below, and if you have questions, please reach out to your new Student Onboarding Advisor.

After you register, you will want to pay your tuition and fees by the payment deadline. You can pay online through your student account, or by visiting the Business office on your chosen campus.

If using any aid to pay for your classes. Please select the method you are using to pay for your tuition below to find out how your fees will be paid.

Paying with Financial Aid?

After completing your FAFSA and being awarded financial aid, you’ll get a notification with your aid details.

  • Due Date Extension: Once awarded, financial aid will extend your payment date past the first week of classes. View our financial aid deadlines for more information.
If your due date isn’t extended and your financial aid file is complete contact the financial aid office.

  • Funds Application: Student tuition and fees are not paid for until enrollment is verified, which is usually at the end of the third week of class of the earliest term you are enrolled in. At that point financial aid will apply any financial aid to tuition and fees first.

  • Disbursement: If there are funds left after financial aid has applied. You will begin receiving your financial aid refunds at the end of the fourth week of classes of the earliest term you are enrolled in.
To receive your refund new students, need to select a refund preference with BankMobile Disbursements.

Paying with Bright Futures?

Ensure you’ve applied for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship through the Florida Department of Education’s Office of Student Financial Assistance by their established deadline (August 31st immediately following high school graduation).

  • Due Date Extension: Once eligibility is verified with the Florida Department of Education and the anticipated funds are awarded, financial aid will extend your payment date past the first week of classes. View our financial aid deadlines for more information.

  • Funds Application: Student tuition and fees are not paid for until enrollment and all other Bright Futures eligibility requirements are verified, which is usually at the end of the third week of class of the earliest term you are enrolled in. At that point financial aid will apply the Bright Futures funds to tuition and fees.

  • Disbursement: If you only have Bright Futures paying towards your tuition and fees, it is not enough to cover your total tuition and fees balance, so you will still have a balance due after the Bright Futures funds are applied and the amount must be paid by your tuition due date. At the time Bright Futures is applied, if you have already paid your tuition and fees in full or have Florida Prepaid (this is automatically applied by the Business Office before each term begins) or have other financial aid funds, then you may receive a financial aid refund. If applicable, you will begin receiving your financial aid refund(s) at the end of the fourth week of classes of the earliest term in which you are enrolled in.

Paying with Florida Prepaid?

  • Funds Application: If you have the Prepaid plan, SPC will automatically apply the funds to your student account at least one week prior to the due date. There will still be a balance due since prepaid does not cover some fees.

  • What if I don't want to use my Florida Prepaid? If you do not wish to use your prepaid, please send an email from your SPC student email to prepaid@spcollege.edu requesting that your prepaid be removed. The email needs to be sent each term you do not wish to use prepaid.
View our Florida Prepaid page for additional information.

Remember to use your First-Time Titans group in the Titan Hub to ask questions, access resources, and connect with fellow First-Time Titans.

The SPC Bookstore offers on-campus and online services, including new, rental, and online textbook and course material.

  • Depending on your Financial Aid Package, you could qualify for the Book Line of Credit (BLOC), which the bookstore can access to pay for your materials.

Your courses may be part of the First Day Book program, a textbook savings program that provides discounted course materials through MyCourses.

Once you have paid for your classes, you can get your SPC ID card.

Your ID gives you access to free bus transportation on Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) buses

You were assigned a Career and Academic Advisor when you applied to SPC, and this advisor’s name is easy to find when logged into the Titan Hub.

We recommend all first-year and transfer students schedule an appointment with their advisor by the end of their first term.

Your Career & Academic Advisor will help you register after the first term, explore your academic and career goals, understand degree requirements and develop a personalized academic plan.

Advisors have appointments up until two weeks before the beginning of the term. If you have already completed your first term at SPC and want to register two weeks or less before the start of the term, you can see an Advisor on a first come, first served basis, either on campus or through virtual advising.
