U.S. News & World Report has again ranked St. Petersburg College’s (SPC) online bachelor’s programs first in the Tampa Bay area.

The 2024 study listed SPC first in the Tampa Bay region in two categories: Best Online Bachelor’s Programs and Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans. This is the fourth year in a row that the College has received top rankings from the research company.

Among eligible participating colleges in the Florida College System, SPC ranked second for Best Online Bachelor’s Program for Veterans and third for Best Online Bachelor’s Program in the 2024 study. The College also ranked seventh for the Best Online Bachelor’s Program for Veterans and 10th for the Best Online Bachelor’s among all participating institutions in the state of Florida.

SPC’s Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Matthew Liao-Troth said the consistency in SPC’s ranking boils down to the College’s dedicated faculty and staff who support students on every SPC campus.

“St. Petersburg College is proud of our faculty and staff and the quality of education and sincere support we provide for our students,” Liao-Troth said. “As an innovator of online education in the Florida College System for more than 20 years, we continue to improve the student experience with professional development for our faculty and staff and continued investment in our online learning environment for our students. We know our students come to us for better jobs and better lives, and we strive to exceed their expectations.”

The College’s consistently high marks in the study also highlight SPC’s dedication to providing affordable degrees that lead to better futures and better lives for the Titan community. SPC Veteran Affairs Coordinator Allison Shenofsky said the rankings are rewarding to the College’s efforts to helping those who served.

“At SPC we are totally committed to the academic, and overall success of our honored men and women of the military,” Shenofsky said. “We strive to offer them a quality education that is approved for study under their Active Military, Reserve/National Guard and GI Bill benefits. It’s very rewarding to see that our efforts are being recognized as valuable to those who serve our nation.”
